With the Forex market shifting online, many have become curious about currency trading and how accessible it is to uncover the information. You’ll find in some ways it’s very similar to the stock market in that things are sold and bought and the prices fall and rise.

You’ll find one considerable difference in currency trading, and that is your actually trading money around instead of stocks or bonds. The foreign currency exchange market is also known as Forex market.

You’ll find plenty of sales information about the Forex market online, but it’s best if you learn a few of the rudiments before you even think about investing in the currency trading market.

One thing to be cognizant of, which is different from most trading market, is the Forex market is the absolute largest market in the world. It covers all nations and all nations currencies so you’ll not only see those you are accustomed with such as the USD or the Canadian dollar and Japanese Yen, but you’ll also see the Korean currency and small countries such as Zimbabwe.

You’ll also need to understand that this is not a conventional market but one that is open all day long. Most of the stock markets will run on the nations business day, the Forex market runs through out the day for the whole week. You will find the market closed on the global weekend. This is a short weekend as the time clocks of the world differ, basically, you’ll find a market open somewhere in the world and you can trade on any market at any time.

Another thing to understand is that you’re not trading a single currency like when you’re trading on a single stock, but you’re trading currency pairs. You’re actually betting that one type of money will plunge or inflate against the other.

For instance, take the CAD/USD pair, or the Canadian Dollar against the US dollar. If the Canadian dollar rises and you bought the pair, you make money. If the Canadian dollar rises and you sold the pair, you would lose money.

By now you’re probably pretty discombobulated, this is normal and with time and patience you’ll understand what is going on. There are many people that spend years studying this global market and developing trading strategies and still have trouble making a profit, most people lose their complete investment at least once due to how unpredictable the currency trading market can be.

It’s easier now, you can open a demonstration account and practice trading currencies with play money or an account that is loaded up with starter funds so you can learn in real time. In this way you’re able to trade currencies in real time and learn strategies with play money before investing your own.

What Are The Most Common Foreclosure Scams

Home foreclosure is becoming a far more common problem now then it was just a few years ago. Often it originates from one missed payment which soon spirals out of control. Before you know it you have missed three or four payments and the mortgage lender or bank wants you to pay everything you owe all at once, right then and there. Often this is a major burden to the homeowner and in the end they must decide on some sort of plan of action…this is normally where some one can fall for a scam.

Foreclosure scams are very common as much as the problem itself. Since most homeowners believe that they have little or no choice they fall for these traps, which of course make their situation much worse than it was. Not only is the stress of the foreclosure an issue, but then the fallout from the scam starts…and brings additional stress.

The people who work these scams advertise online, publish advertisements in the local newspaper, distribute flyers, and call houses which are included on the foreclosure list. Sometimes they call themselves “mortgage consultants/real estate investment planners” who offer foreclosure services or advertise with “We buy houses” signs.

Some of the more common scams.

Bankruptcy Foreclosure Scam

The promise here is that the house will be saved. This is how the scam goes…They will either ask for the homeowner to pay their mortgage directly to them, hand over their deed and pay rent, or obtain refinancing. of course they don’t do ANYTHING to fulfill the other end of the bargain, they don’t contact your lender or obtain refinancing for you. They keep all the money and file bankruptcy without your knowledge. Only to use a diffirent name and do the scam agian on some other poor soul looking for help.

Since the homeowner is not aware that bankruptcy has been filed, they fail to participate in the case. The case is dismissed and the house continues onto foreclosure. Apart from loosing money and your home, you will also have a bankruptcy on your record.

Equity skimming

The scammer poses as a buyer. They then promise the homeowner to pay the mortgage or given them a sum of money once the property has been sold. The operator then convinces the homeowner to sign over the deed and move out. The homeowner can stay but they have to pay rent. If they opt to move out the operator lets a third party rent the property. The scam operator of course does not pay the mortgage and lets the mortgage lender foreclose all the while stemming off questions from the original home owner about where they are in the “process.”

If the house has equity, the operator sells the property and pays off the debt. Then the operator keeps the equity that the homeowner could have had if they sold it

Should you find yourself facing ANY of the above mentioned situations….contact a local mortgage office and ask them if they have ever heard of a “program” like the one you would be offered…if they say no….call the local police and ask for the consumer fraud division.

Breakout Fading Explained (Part I)

Fading breakouts refers to trading against breakouts. When we believe that breakouts from support and resistance levels to be false and unsustainable we fade breakouts. Suppose you believe that the currency prices will not be able to follow through action in the direction of the breakout. You trade in the opposite direction of the breakout.

False breakouts are a bane for breakout traders but boon for breakout faders. False breakouts are also known as fakeouts. Fading breakouts tends to be more effective as a short term strategy. Fading breakout is not meant to be a long term strategy.

Support level attracts the buyers enthusiasm for higher bids. It prevents the price from falling further. The resistance level attracts the sellers enthusiasm for shorting and it prevents the price action from advancing higher. Support and resistance are seen as the price floor and the price ceiling respectively.

It is perfectly logical for the crowd to think that if the support level is penetrated, then the price action should move downward. The crowd is more likely to sell than to buy when the price action breaks the support level from above. The idea of trading breakouts appeals to many independent traders especially those new to currency trading. The crowd likes to trade the breakout.

The opposite is true of a price break above the resistance level. The crowd usually concludes that if the resistance is broken, then the prices are more likely to advance higher in the rally. Hence, the crowd is more likely to buy than to sell.

You will find clusters of stop loss orders placed around both the support and resistance levels. These stop loss orders are placed by traders who have brought near the support level or have sold near the resistance level. Now you can also understand why there tends to be large number of entry stop orders placed just above a resistance level and also placed just below a support level.

Short positions will be stopped out when the price action breaks out above the resistance level. Similarly, when the currency prices crosses below the support level, long positions will be stopped out.

You will ask why most breakouts fail? The fact that smart traders need to take the money from the novice and inexperience traders is one of the most important reasons why most breakouts fail. Always remember, it does not always pay to have the same mentality as the crowd. The majority will cash out of the trading game broke.

Money has to be made from the majority. Not from the minority who got it right. The crowd holds the dumb money with the weak hands. Smart money belongs to the big players who have a couple of tricks to sabotage the crowd.

It causes vertical rallies or declines when the crowd scrambles to get out of their losing positions. Most money is made when the crowd turns out to be wrong. Read Part II for more on Breakout Fading.
